NVMe Plugfest: Hotplug Testing with Quarch 'Torridon' Modules

Importantly, now for NVMe Plugfest, hotplug testing is mandatory. All PCIe SFF devices were required to pass a hot-swap test, using Quarch’s ‘Torridon’ modules. Quarch "Torridon" modules are required to validate the hot-swap ability of an NVMe device into a host system.

Members of the UNH-IOL NVMe consortium were able to make use of Quarch PCIe SFF modules during the NVME Plugfest.

Hot-swap and fault injection for Gen 3 PCIe SFF disks

This will be especially valuable as hot-swap of PCIe devices is a new technology and there are many potential ways for it to fail. Automated testing will greatly improve your ability to deal with this risk.

  • Fully automated hot-swap control of attached drive
  • Individual control of all data, power, sideband, aux pins
  • Repeatable, precise timing

Power margining & measurement made easy

The XLC Programmable Power Module is a flexible power margining and measurement tool for SSD and HDD disk drives and similar devices.

The power module is specifically designed for low current measurement. This is ideal for characterizing device sleep states and similar. A range of power injection fixtures allow you to power SAS/SATA/PCIe SFF/PCIe Slot devices and more.
