Altair PollEx is the most comprehensive and integrated set of PCB design viewing, analysis and verification tools. It provides powerful rule-based checking tools (DFM, DFA and DFE) to detect faults early in design and also provides easy solution for SI and thermal analysis of PCBs using the integrated parts and material libraries.

Altair PollEx PCB Solvers provide signal integrity and board level thermal analysis.

  • For signal integrity, PollEx is based on 2D and 3D electromagnetic field solvers providing different types of analysis, including transmission line, eye diagram and crosstalk analysis, besides network RLGC parameters extraction.

  • For thermal analysis, based on FEM, PollEx calculates heat dissipation from components on boards. All analyses are supported by a built-in material library, with parts’ properties obtained from Unified Part Libraries (UPFs).

PCB Modeler

PollEx PCB Modeler reads entire PCB design data quickly in an intuitive and flexible interface to explore design details. Users can do queries, measurements, find objects, view topologies, analyze nets, compare PCB designs and receive import and export support for all standard ECAD packages and PCB layout formats.

PCB Verification

PCB Solvers

PollEx PCB Solvers investigate Signal Integrity (SI) and thermal PCB problems thanks to intuitive and easy to use solvers which are fully integrated into the PollEx PCB Modeler and the Unified Part Editor (UPE). Included are efficient domain SI solvers with SPICE and IBIS model support for wave propagation delay, reflection, crosstalk, eye diagrams, scattering, admittance and impedance matrix calculations.
